| Ingredients |

½ cup shortening
 |
1 cup sugar
 |
1 egg, well beaten
 |
1 teaspoon lemon extract (can substitute almond)
 |
½ cup milk
 |
2 ½ cups flour
 |
½ teaspoon salt
 |
2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
 |
1 cup Maine wild blueberries
 |

| Directions: |

 | Stir dry ingredients together. In separate bowl cream together shortening and sugar, add egg and beat well. Mix milk and lemon extract. Add milk mixture to creamed shortening alternately with dry ingredients. Finally, gently add Maine wild blueberries. Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 325 degrees F. for 12 to 15 minutes. |
