This is a wonderful, melt-in-your-mouth dessert recipe that was used in a cooking contest at the Festival in 2002.

| Ingredients |
 |
2 cups flour
 |
3 tsp baking powder
 |
1/2 cup shortening
 |
1/2 cup sugar
 |
1/2 tsp salt
 |
1/2 cup milk
 |
1 egg, beaten
 |
2 tsp lemon juice
 |
2 cups Maine Wild Blueberries
 |
Crumb Topping:
 |
1/3 cup sugar
 |
1/3 cup flour
 |
1/2 tsp cinnamon
 |
1/4 cup butter
 |

| Directions: |
 |
 | Sift flour, salt and baking powder and set aside. Cream shortening and sugar, add egg and beat until light. Stir milk into egg mix, alternating with dry ingredients. Mix well and pour batter into 8 inch greased loaf pan lined with wax paper. Pour lemon juice over Maine Wild Blueberries and spread over batter. |

 | Crumb Topping: Mix sugar, flour, and cinnamon; add butter and mix until small crumbs form. Sprinkle topping over berries. |

 | Bake at 350ยบ for 55-60 minutes or until done. |
