2006 Wild Blueberry Queen
Stearns, Melissa

Age 22
Melissa Stearns is the daughter of Barbara Brosius of Rockland. A 2002 graduate of Lighthouse Christian Academy, a Christian Education home-school program, her school activities included Key club, Press club, cheerleading, musicals, and Campbells Southern Gospel Music Ministry. Melissa is currently a sophomore at Trevecca Nazarene University in TN. She is active in a telemarket work study program, the United Methodist Publishing House research department, and the West Rockport Baptist Church. Melissa has volunteered at the Macdougal School, the Rockland Lobster Festival, and the Teen Homeless Shelter. Her interests are Southern Gospel music, college level bible study, reading, writing, and crafting. Melissa is employed by Camden National Corporation of Rockport in Human Resources. Her future plans are to obtain her degree in broadcast journalism.

Megan is the daughter of Thomas and Marcia Mathieu of Gorham. Megan is a 2005 graduate of Gorham High School. While in high school, she was an active member of Student Government, Chamber Singers, Musical Productions, Varsity Cheerleading and also worked as a teacher's aid. In the fall, Megan will be attending the University of Maine at Orono. In the community, she volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, Big Brother/Big Sister, American Red Cross, Cal Ripkin Baseball League and Grizzley Cheerleaders. Her interests include dancing, singing, playing her guitar, writing and reading. Megan is currently employed at Pier Pizza in Old Orchard, The Portland Seadogs, Cumberland County Civic Center, and Lonestar Restaurant in South Portland. Her future plans are to obtain a degree in Journalism and Music

Kate is the daughter of Ann Parent of Warren and Lee Houghton of Union. A 2003 graduate of Medomak Valley High School, she was active in Student Council, Soccer, Track, Pit Band, and PAWS. Kate is currently a sophomore at Boston College. She participates in tutoring and mentoring programs, Tools for Tomorrow, and the Ski & Snowboard Club. Her community activities include church, 4-H, youth soccer and is a junior member on the Warren School Building Committee. Her interests are dance (clogging), music, hiking, camping, and skiing. Kate is currently working on her fathers dairy farm in Union. Her further plans are to obtain her BA in Mathematics.

Anna is the daughter of Robert and Helene Hammond of Harrington. She is a 2003 graduate of Narraguagus High School. In high school, she participated in Drama Club, Varsity Volleyball, National Honor Society, Destination Imagination Improv Team where they placed second globally and was Senior Class President. Her interests include photography, computers, scrapbooking, reading. She has participated in various local fund-raising activities. Her future plans are to be a computer engineer. Anna is currently employed as a waitress and blueberry raker.

Autumn, a junior at Colby-Sawyer College, NH, is very active in sports and arts. She participates in track and field, soccer, basketball, and strength training at college. Autumn also has a special interest in batik art, asian studies and dance. She volunteers at a soup kitchen, as well as helps with youth soccer and the Special Olympics. Autumn's future plans are to explore the arts and cultures of the world and travel.
