About 4-H

I pledge my head to clearer thinking, my heart to greater loyalty, my hands to larger service, and my health to better living, for my club, my community, my country and my world.

The University of Maine Cooperative Extension conducts the state's most successful out-of-school youth educational program through 4-H. 4-H is a positive youth development organization that empowers young people to reach their full potential while learning leadership, citizenship and life skills.

Be sure not to miss the 4-H exhibits, shows and demonstrations while you are at Union Fair! You will find 4-H member-created exhibits in the 4-H Exhibition Yurt, and 4-H member-raised livestock in the large open barn that runs parallel to the midway. Stop and talk with the many young 4-H members who are on the grounds caring for their animals.

The 4-H Farm-to-Fair interactive exhibit is another stop that families with children should make. The entrance to 4-H Farm-to-Fair is at the midway end of the 4-H Barn (near the racetrack.)

Livestock shows and educational demonstrations will happen throughout the fairgrounds all week.
